Petworth & Pulborough Scout District
Our Scout District is made up of eleven active Scout Groups situated in the West Sussex towns and villages to the north west of the South Downs,
stretching from Ashington in the east to South Harting in the west.
Unfortunately several of our Scout Groups located in Midhurst and Northchapel are at the moment mothballed due to lack of adult leaders.
We also have five Explorer Scout Units within the District catering for those aged 14 to 18 years.
They run independently of the Scout Groups although they make use of Group headquarters and other resources.
Chimera Explorer Scout Unit - based in Ifold (Thursday)
Griffin Explorer Scout Unit - based in Storrington (Tuesday)
Phoenix Explorer Scout Unit - based in Billingshurst (Monday)
Silver Stag Explorer Scout Unit - based in Petworth/Fittleworth (Tuesday)
Earth Explorer Scout Unit - based in Easebourne (Tuesday)
West Sussex Scouts
Petworth & Pulborough Scout District is one of 11 which form Scouting in West Sussex.
Within the County there are over 120 Scout Groups, many Explorer Scout Units and members of the Scout Network.
The West Sussex County Scout
website has details of individual Scout Groups as well as information about past & future Scouting
activities within the County. Click on the map below to locate Scouting in your area.
In 2010 various District boundaries were altered. A large change was that the old Haywards Heath and
Southdown Districts combined to make the new
Mid Sussex District. Also Chichester & Midhurst became simply Chichester, with those Scout Groups north of
the South Downs becoming part of Petworth & Pulborough.
The County sponsors a Joint Activity Badge in order to encourage and reward joint activities between members of the Scout
and Guide Associations across West Sussex. To gain the badge, members of the organisations must take part in a joint activity with members of
the opposite Association.
